18 March 2019

As the queen of selfies, Kim Kardashian can never say no to a photo opp, even with a psoriasis breakout. On Sunday, the 38-year-old reality star took to her Instagram stories where she shared a close-up shot of a psoriasis breakout on her face. Embracing the red splotches, she captioned the selfie, "Morning psoriasis" with the sparkle emoji.

If you're like us and been keeping up with the Kardashians for nearly a decade, you know the beauty mogul was first diagnosed with the chronic skin disease in 2011, which was revealed on an episode of KUWTK. Since then, the soon-to-be mom of four hasn't been shy when it comes to sharing the details of her struggles and life-long journey living with psoriasis.

According to the National Psoriasis Foundation, 125 million people worldwide have psoriasis. Psoriasis is a genetic skin condition that speeds up the life cycle of skin cells, causing the buildup of red, scaly patches on the surface of the skin (looks very similar to rosacea). These patches are itchy and can sometimes be painful. One-third of those people report having a relative with the same condition. In case you didn't know,  Momager Kris Jenner is also currently living with Psoriasis.

We're super glad Kim continues to document her journey with psoriasis — it kind of reminds us that she's human. Yeah, nobody's perfect. Not even Kim Kardashian-West. Cheers to embracing skin!
